Sample Web Site Bid

The below bid is a sample cost estimate for a  CMS, CSS/XHTML compliant web site with up to 5 pages and a spam resistant contact  form. This bid includes organic site optimization for search engines for your home page and the formal bid will be based on your requests and your requirements and will be submitted to you for your review via pdf. Project Time Line

After receipt of your order by way of a signed web site agreement, initial payment due and once all required information is submitted to Mindy Schmidt Imaging Services for the web site, the first working mock up of the new site will usually be posted within 10 business days. New sites are first posted at MSIS’s server with a secure log in for clients – for site review and usability testing. After client direction has been addressed by MSIS and final approval is given via e-mail – the new web site will be posted to its server, and final payment would be due.

Project Description

Any copy and images required for this web site are required digitally by the Client. ( Please review the contract on more specifics on how to submit content. ) More than five site web pages may require an additional fee. There is not a difference in cost for site redesign vs. new web site design.

Note on SEO: ( Search engine optimization ) All client web sites  are optimized organically. These sites include strategic meta tag and keyword placement on the home page. XML site maps are always included as well. Requests for additional pages to be coded and/or manually submitted to search engines, placement of  tag “clouds”, Google Adword Campaigns set up or other SEO advanced options to your web site, must be bid separately. Project Rights

All rights are subject to the terms and conditions of this project and are based on the web site agreement that is required prior to any work being done. All work is also performed under the Code of Fair Practices of the Graphic Artist Guild. Please review this information thoroughly and call me or send me an e-mail with any questions or concerns. These terms and agreements are meant to protect the Client as well as the Artist.

Project Costs

Total cost of web site development with above description: $2,500.00*
* Each project is custom bid. Additional pages or features will be included in the formal bid prior to acceptance of each project.

Contact Forms: A single spam resistant on line contact form is included in any base web site project. These forms, once submitted on your web site, would be sent to your e-mail address . An additional fee would be assessed for larger quotation type forms or for forms that feed an online database.

Online Database Options: Contact Forms that feed an online database allow you to both receive an e-mail alerting you to a visitor’s submission and also allow you the ability to export the information as an excel spreadsheet for your use on a local machine ( your desktop computer ) without manual entry of content submitted. There are also more advanced options using the very latest in online database management systems that provide for easy sorting and creation of linked databases with the information you collect from your online forms as well as uploading your existing data or spreadsheets. Hosting and Domain Name Reservation: As a reseller of hosting and registrar services, MSIS passes on a discount to her Clients. For new web sites MSIS offers both domain name registration and hosting for a $60.00 annual fee. This includes setting up your desired e-mail accounts. ( Up to five requested addresses and then a $10 per additional address as a one time fee. )

Site Maintenance: Maintenance on a new web site is usually included for the first 30 days after publishing. After that time each client must choose either to  a.) Sign a maintenance contract to allow MSIS to continue caring for the site.  b.) Accept that each request will be invoiced a minimum fee of $50.00 to start. or c.) In the case of CMS web sites, a client may also choose to  receive a user account and  log-in information, where the client can be responsible for the maintenance of site content.

* Maintenance fees are dependent on the size and scope of each web site. As a rule monthly maintenance fees average $35.00 and $20.00 for non-profit web sites for 30 minutes worth of site alterations.  ( This fee is invoiced annually and  there are no “minute rollovers” of any unused time. ) A maintenance contract basically “retains” MSIS to keep your site’s design in tact while addressing any changes or alterations requested by the Client within 24 hours.

Approach Costs and Start of Job

Mindy Schmidt Imaging Services requires that 50% of selected project costs, a signed web site agreement and all content has been submitted prior to any work being done. The balance of the project costs are to be paid upon final client approval and web site upload. 100% of the first year of Domain Name Registration and Hosting Fees are also due at project start up.

Monthly maintenance fees, if a maintenance option is selected, are invoiced annually. Hosting and Domain Name Registration fees will be invoiced thereafter on the anniversary date of your original registration. If this is a site redesign, and the domain name and server hosting is already established, Hosting and Domain fees need not be part of a new bid.

Miscellany

A copy of this bid would be customized to your project and would be submitted via pdf for your review. Estimates are good for a period of 60 days. Once a formal bid is submitted and accepted MSIS will send all required paperwork to start the job.

Please note:

Web sites take an average of 45-90 days to be recognized by all major search engines and directories once coded with keywords and Meta tags. Your site’s listing is ultimately determined by the traffic to your site, the competition to and with the key words selected, the number of sites your web address is listed on or linked to and the meta tag and key word optimization – which is included in this bid for the home page.

It is my goal to make sure your site is found by anyone looking for it within these parameters. It is the client’s responsibility to advertise and provide the web site information on printed materials to the public and to their customers.

For Clients with web sites that are finding difficulty ranking well initially, MSIS can assist in setting up AdWord campaigns with Google to ensure higher traffic. These services are relatively inexpensive and are well worth the investment.
